  Abstract: sEp

The characteristic mosaic pattern of degraded Macchie near a rural settlement on the upper travertine terrace near Antalya (Turkey) is the result of various extensive agricultural influences. The variation, serial structure and interactions of characteristic species groups of Macchie derivates with forb fringes, heliophilous plants and indicator species of extensive pastures and Macchie clearings, ruderal and segetal sites of the settlement are presented. Population diversity and ecological character species groups were determined by the direct gradient analysis. The seed bank was studied in germination experiments. These measures were taken to obtain more precise information about the potential species composition and the seasonal vegetation dynamics.
